Dance Accompaniment

Since 2016, I've been Part Time Faculty in the Maggie Allesee School of Theater and Dance at Wayne State University as a class musician for modern dance technique classes. Drawing on a sonic palette that includes acoustic drumkit, piano, and electronic grooves, textures, and soundscapes created in Ableton Live, my class musician practice is one of nuanced, responsive, and embodied improvisation, composition, and production that both nurtures and challenges dancers in their creative development. In classes at Wayne State,  I've played for classes led by Biba Bell, Lisa LaMarre, Hannah Anderson, Molly Shanahan, Bryan and Shaina BAIRA, Dr. Ras Michael Courtney, and Jessica Rajko, as well as for guest artists Wanjiru Kamuyu, Penny Goldobo, Nicole Mannarino, and others.

I've also accompanied for classes at Harge Dance Stories, Adelphi University (NY), the American College Dance Association, and Complexions Ballet, for classes led by Jennifer Harge, Marnie Wood, Juan Rodriguez, Susan Koper, Robin Wilson, Benjamin Roach, Wilfred Souly, and Dwight Rhoden.
