Dwelling Lightheartedly
in the Futility of Everything

Dwelling Lightheartedly In The Futility of Everything is a self-produced studio album released in February 2015. The culmination of 4 years of explorations in groove-driven songwriting, with studio production guided by electroacoustic gesture and manipulation, Dwelling weaves ambient, noise, and post-rock sensibilities into cerebral and emotive compositions inspired by artists such as Georgia Anne Muldrow, J Dilla, and Bjork. The album includes guest features and collaborations with artists based in Montréal (Emma Frank, Corinna Gulkin, Simon Millerd) and Detroit (Grace Rodgers, Natalie Frakes, Patrick Behnke, and Dave Haughey).

To release the album, I produced an evening length multimedia performance developed around the music in collaboration with 14 Detroit-based video and movement artists: Christina De Roos, Kevin Eckert, Costa Sirdenis, Tony Eggert, Goran Butorac, Maggie Piellusch, Alex Pavlov, Natasha Beste, Rachel Ann Harbert, Lisa LaMarre, Marianne Brass, Angela Sutcliffe, Shanice Rollins, and Rena Hertrich. The multimedia performance was presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit as part of their Detroit Stages Series.
